Sizing your Vintage Stockings
Vintage stockings are often only thigh length compared to their modern day counterparts.
As a rough guide the same rule applies as to other vintage clothing so go up at least a size.
Use the table below as a rough guide.

If possible clean immediately after use to avoid stains
Use liquid detergent, dry clean or special hand wash
Never store in plastic bags need room to breathe
Store fragile items flat or folded as hanging will cause shoulder humps and can tear fragile fabric.
Keep away from light
Use lavender to keep pests away near but not touching fabric
Check for weak seams, holes or frays before putting any vintage garment in the washer, if on doubt hand wash or dry clean.
Use cool to warm water to avoid fade or running
NEVER USE WIRE HANGERS best is padded
Suggested fabric care: SILKS washable but use cold water. If crepe, raw or a lined garment dry-clean only
RAYON can be washed in cold water although dry cleaning is still best. Always dry clean Rayon-crepe
Wool Dry Clean
Velvet Dry Clean only if it’s silk velvet then even dry clean may ruin it.
When dry Cleaning by a professional, always ask if they are familiar with vintage garments first.
